2 military families get new Chevys
Two military families received 2024 Chevrolet Trax crossovers from General Motors last week in connection with Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game.
GM donated the vehicles to Operation Homefront and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, which identified deserving recipients.
Operation Homefront gave a Trax to Abreante Jones, a U.S. Army veteran who is a single mother to an 8-year-old son. Jones, who became a paralegal after seven years in the Army, didn’t have reliable transportation after the engine of her previous vehicle failed, GM said.
The other Trax went to Amanda Tinsley, the widow of a Marine sergeant killed in a 2016 motorcycle crash. Tinsley has been unable to get her 8-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter to important activities because of problems with their vehicle, GM said.
Franklin Sports filled the vehicles with baseball equipment for the kids to use.
“The Jones and Tinsley families exemplify the service and sacrifice of the military community,” Chevy CMO Steve Majoros said. “Chevrolet is honored to provide them with an all-new 2024 Trax and remains committed to recognizing the bravery and dedication of those who have served and their families.”
