13 women accuse French actor Gerard Depardieu of ‘sexual abuse’
French actor Gérard Depardieu is facing fresh claims of “sexual abuse”, as 13 women have reportedly accused him of “sexually inappropriate gestures or proposals”.
The 74-year-old actor, who is one of the most prolific stars in French cinema, has already been accused of raping French actress Charlotte Arnould, who is in her mid-twenties.
Arnould, who chose to waive her right to anonymity, two years ago accused the filmstar of raping her at his home in Paris.
Depardieu strongly denied the allegations after a dossier claimed he had preyed on his victims on multiple productions including the popular Netflix drama, Marseille.
A spokesperson for the actor said: “He formally denies all the charges likely to fall under criminal law.”

“Across the different accounts, the same scene seemed to repeat itself. They are actresses, make-up artists and crew members.
“They attest to have been subjected to a hand on their buttock, between the legs, or on their thighs or stomach – as well as obscene sexual propositions and sometimes insistent groaning.”
It was also claimed that such incidents were “laughed off” and not taken seriously.
The 13 new complaints are not currently filed as legal complaints, but Arnould’s case continues to make its way through courts in France.
Last year, Depardieu’s legal team attempted to have his rape charges dismissed, but this was overruled after judges agreed there is compelling evidence he had attacked the actress.
