116 Smart classrooms established against 123 sanctioned under SAMAGRA Project in Rajouri – Times of India

Jammu, Nov 11: A total of 116 Smart Classrooms have been established against 123 sanctioned under SAMAGRA Project, while minor issues has been reported in the rest seven cases, officials said.
This was apprised to District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal who chaired a meeting to assess the physical and financial status of the establishment of smart classrooms in government schools of the district yesterday .
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the functioning of the already established smart classrooms.
Highlighting the utility of smart classrooms in the modern education system, DC Rajouri Kundal said these facilities help to attract more students to school and bring down dropouts.
“Introduction of the smart school system will help to make education more interesting as everything will be taught with images and videos, which will make the class more interactive and conducive for learning, and better outcomes can be expected,” he added.
“With more and more technology coming into use for the teaching-learning process and the National Education Policy 2020 laying stress on the use of dual modes of education, which include both, online and offline modes, the establishment of smart classrooms in schools has gained paramount importance,” he added.
Earlier a threadbare discussion with respect to issues hampering the proper functioning of the Smart Classroom was also discussed in detail.
The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri informed the chairperson that 116 Smart classrooms have been established against 123 sanctioned under Samagra, while a minor issue has been reported in seven cases.
“Meanwhile six of the 23 smart classrooms sanctioned under TSP have been completed and the rest are in various stages of execution and are being constructed by PWD,” CEO added.
