1000Lb Sisters star Amy Slaton ‘losing weight’ during second pregnancy
Amy Slaton has revealed that she is losing weight during her second pregnancy after switching up her eating habits.
The 1000Lb Sisters star is set to welcome her second child with husband Michael Halterman, and recently confirmed that they will be adding another son to their brood, just over a year after giving birth to little Gage.
The 34-year-old has already lost 156lbs since she first began filming for the TLC series with sister Tammy Slaton – who is currently in a food rehab center.
In a new interview, she explained that her transformation is continuing throughout her baby journey.
‘I feel like I’m actually losing weight with this baby because I’m eating right,’ she told the Sun. ‘Gage’s favorite foods are green beans, broccoli, brussels sprouts, and tuna fish, that boy will eat tuna salad every day if I let him.
‘He eats healthy so I eat healthily. But I do have sugar here just in case my sugar gets low, because with this baby my sugar drops into the 40s, with Gage it was always high.
‘I asked my doctor, “Hey is it okay if I lose weight”. And my doctor said yes, as long as the baby gains it.’
Amy previously weighed 406lbs at one point before undergoing a gastric bypass in 2019, and has been working hard to reach her goal weight of 150lbs.
She also said that she feels ‘a lot better’ as she can keep up with Gage now, and is able to run after him more.
‘I just want to get down to 150, I’m 250 right now. I don’t exercise, but running after him [Gage] is exercise, picking him up most of the time is like picking up a 25lb barbell,’ she added.
The reality star confirmed her baby news at the beginning of the year, getting her son in on her baby announcement.
Amy gave fans a front-row seat into her gender reveal last week, unveiling the moment that she learned she would be welcoming another boy.
At the end of the clip, she unveiled the name they had chosen for the baby, introducing viewers to ‘John Allen’.
In a recent update on Instagram, the expectant mom shared how the little one is growing, telling fans: ‘17 weeks. Baby boy kicking like crazy mostly at night.’
