General Knowledge Quiz by TIMLEG
Price: Free / $1.99
General Knowledge Quiz isn’t the most imaginative name. However, it is a pretty good quiz app. It omits the typical pop culture stuff in favor of more general knowledge questions. There are quizzes for history, literature, science, technology, geography, arts, humanities, and a general section. This is one of many endless quiz games where it continuously asks you questions until you’re tired of it answering them.
Some additional features include an ELO score to track how you’re doing, Wear OS support, and multiplayer support. The free version includes ads. There is a separate, premium version on Google Play without ads.
Logo Game
Price: Free (with ads)
Joe Hindy / Android Authority
Logo Game is one of the few free quiz games available on Android. This one is a simple guessing game where you see a logo and then you have to guess the brand. It includes over 2285 globally recognized brands, 73 levels, and the difficulty increases the longer you play. It also comes with Google Play Games services, including achievements and leaderboards. It’s surprisingly large for a completely free game. However, you do have ads to contend with so it kind of averages out the experience. There are a bunch of games like these on Google Play and they definitely aren’t complicated by any stretch. People do seem to really enjoy them, though.
Millionaire Trivia and Jeopardy World
Price: Free to play
Millionaire Trivia and Jeopardy World are the official mobile titles of their respective properties. Millionaire Trivia lets you play like the classic game with lifelines, multiple choice questions, and even the game graphics look like the show. Jeopardy World is much less difficult than the TV version. All questions become multiple choice questions, but the game otherwise keeps to its source material. Both of these games are fun if you enjoy either TV game show.
However, in terms of the top ten, they’re closer to ten than they are to number one. There are some freemium mechanics we don’t quite enjoy and Millionaire in particular, has a small problem with cheating. The actual trivia portion of both games is quite good, though.
Quizzizz is a bit unique in this space. It’s actually an educational app with quizzes. The quizzes teach you about a topic. You can select from quizzes that others made or make your own quiz if you want to. It also uses a website to host the game so you and others can play. There isn’t a competitive element to this, since it’s mostly for teaching purposes, but there are a good selection of quizzes across a variety of topics. Plus, the app is free.
Quizoid
Price: Free / $3.99
Quizoid is an older, but still popular quiz game. It features over 7,000 trivia questions across over a dozen categories. The game also features three game modes (classic, 20 question mode, and arcade mode), some hint mechanics, and it fully supports offline play. The game’s UI and graphics are a little basic and they won’t impress anybody. However, the game is otherwise fantastic. There is a premium version for $3.99. For that price, you get an extra 3,000 questions, two more game modes, and extra hint mechanics.
This is a good, stable, solid quiz game without a lot of compromises or problems. We really do enjoy the offline support as well. Not a lot of popular quiz games have that. The only downside is the last update to this app happened in 2020. We hope the developers aren’t done with this one.
Quiz Panic
Price: Free to play
Quiz Panic is a multiplayer quiz game. You join in on 20-player games. The game asks you questions, and you move your cute little monster to the answer you want. You can see everybody else’s answer so you can rush over and grab it before the timer goes out. It introduces an element of strategy cuz you can fake out your opponents into guessing wrong.
There are several game modes as well, including Panic Mode with four to six players, Chaos Mode with 20 players, and Friend Mode, where you invite up to nine of your friends to play. The game has some bugs that we hope to get fixed over time, but otherwise, it’s a good experience.
QuizzLand
Price: Free / Up to $9.99
This one boasts a simple, classic quiz game experience. It asks you a question, you get four choices as an answer, and you keep going until you see how well you do. It features a bunch of questions across a variety of topics. The game also comes with some hint mechanics as well as some other little mini-games. We’re a little concerned because the game’s UI is similar to QuizUp, but it otherwise worked quite well in our testing. There is a freemium element to this along with some advertising. However, the questions are engaging and this one has a lot of potential. We hope to see it improve the next time we swing back to update this article.
Trivia 360
Price: Free / $3.99
Joe Hindy / Android Authority
Trivia 360 is one of the newer quiz games. It’s looks and feels like a traditional style trivia game. It comes with thousands of questions, true or false questions, riddles, and various categories. There are also leaderboards to see how well you’re doing. Aside from that, it’s a relatively simple trivia game. The interface is colorful, but easy to learn. About the only downsides are that the landmark questions are generally US based. Also, there are quite a few ads and no way to get rid of them. Other than that, it’s not bad. The premium version is also free if you use Google Play Pass.
Trivia Crack 2
Price: Free to play / $9.99 per 3 months
The first Trivia Crack was one of the most successful mobile games of the last five years. Trivia Crack 2 is the next game in the franchise. It features a lot of the same elements as the first one. That includes a metric boatload of questions, online PvP, and you can submit your own questions just like in the first game. This second iteration adds some extra social and gameplay elements as well. The advertising is not enjoyable in the slightest, and we’re not big fans of its subscription pricing to remove them.
The game should even out over time, and, aside from the ads, it’s actually a solid trivia game with good social elements. Etermax also has Trivia Crack Adventure (Google Play). It’s a level-based game with trivia elements in case you want to try something different.
Trivia Star
Price: Free to play
Trivia Star is a decent quiz game. It’s one of those quiz games that has a metric ton of content. There are over 10,000 questions across 60 categories. The game works both online and offline, a rarity in this space. There are also over 1,000 levels to complete in solo-player mode. In short, you can play this all day and only make a dent in it.
The only issue we could find was the higher-than-average number of ads. We’re not big fans of how many ads are in this game, but if you can get passed that, the content is good enough.
