ZEE, Sony assess executive talent ahead of merger

Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEE) and Culver Max Entertainment (Sony) have engaged leading global executive search firm Spencer Stuart to conduct a talent assessment of the senior executives of the two companies, two people with direct knowledge of the matter told ET.

Spencer Stuart recently completed a talent assessment of senior leadership teams from both companies, said one of the people quoted above.

The talent assessment has been conducted for executives at the senior vice president (SVP) level and above.

“Spencer Stuart’s report will be one of the key considerations for building the new leadership team at the Sony-Zee merged entity,” the source quoted above added.

Another source said that Spencer Stuart completed the talent assessment process last month.

“They will give their recommendations to the top management-Zee’s Puneet Goenka, Sony’s NP Singh etc.-who will take a final decision on the way forward,” the source noted. The source added that consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has been hired to help the broadcasting giants complete the integration process. The cumulative headcount of the two companies is estimated to be in the 4,000-5,000 range.
