Zara Tindall’s custom heels have a subtle detail just like Diana’s wedding shoes

Zara Tindall stepped out in an array of show-stopping dresses for Royal Ascot this year, ranging from floral designs to a chic white ensemble.

The stylish royal remained true to her trademark look by wearing smart A-line dresses, statement hats, and leg-lengthening stilettos on each day of the races.

But eagle-eyed fans spotted a unique twist on Zara’s outfit when she stepped out for the opening day of the event.

On the sole of her Sauvereign heels, which were adorned with gold gems, the royal’s initials could be seen engraved in silver.

One onlooker took to TikTok to point out the hidden detail on the shoes and noted the significance of Zara’s personalised footwear.

In a video on their account, Stories From the Jewellery Box (@stories_from_the_jb ), the observant fan noted that it’s not a new concept for the royals to customise their belongings.

They said: “The idea of personalised shoes for the royals is not new, Princess Diana’s deliberately low-heeled wedding slippers, designed by celebrity shoemaker Clive Shilton, had a small ‘C’ and ‘D’ painted just under the heel.”

Images of the late Princess of Wales’s shoes show the initials, which stood for Charles and Diana, painted on with a heart between them.

The markings were surrounded by a floral design to mark the poignant occasion.

According to the Sauvereign official website, Zara’s shoes were considered a “signature” style even without her initials.

While the shoe itself features a glossy nude body, the heels are crafted from pure gold, and are available in five distinctive shades.

The 24-carat design is available in yellow, white, moon, grey and green, each with their own unique hue and luminescence.

The designer footwear collection also serves as a canvas for an arsenal of gems, which the royal was spotted wearing on day one of Royal Ascot.

Zara opted for an iridescent shade of gold to complete the nude pumps, which are made to be customised.

Though the carving of “ZT” on the sole is a deeply sentimental touch, the gems are interchangeable on the stiletto shoes.
