You’re a genius if you can solve tricky ‘three-line puzzle’ in 10 seconds

A FIENDISHLY tricky puzzle is stumping netizens across the globe.

The brain-teaser presents the viewer with a grid of nine dots arranged into a square made up of three lines of three.

To beat it, you have to connect every dot using three straight lines drawn with a pencil or pen.

The twist is that you cannot lift your writing implement from the page at any point.

That makes it next-to-impossible unless you use a cheeky (or genius) trick.

The puzzle has been doing the rounds online for years and last year went viral once again after it was posted on TikTok.

The puzzle cannot be completed if you keep within the boundaries of the grid.

However, there’s nothing stopping you from drawing outside of the grid to beat it.

In the TikTok video from user boardsdirect, the person simply draws longer lines that go well beyond the edges of the puzzle.

They’re then able to cut back to cross the pencil through every point in the grid.

It’s simple but effective and had people losing their minds in comments under the post.

“Think outside the box,” one user wrote.

It’s not the only fiendish puzzle to do the rounds on TikTok.

Last week, we reported on an emoji-themed brain teaser that asks you to solve an equation using the solution to three equations that have been completed for you.

It’s a simple algebra problem that’s a lot trickier than it looks.

The puzzle has done the rounds on social media in the past and was recently shared on TikTok by a user who goes by @puzzlegame21.
