‘You think I’m c**p!’ Holly Willoughby details furious rows with husband over TV decisions

This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby, 40, has admitted she and her husband Dan Baldwin, 46, have gotten into explosive arguments over what she chooses to watch on television at home. The ITV star revealed she has aimed “disproportionate rage” at her TV producer husband of 14 years if he criticises a show she’s tuned into.

Holly explained she used to take it personally when Dan questioned: “Why are you watching this s**t on TV?”

She divulged: “He didn’t mean anything by it, but the rage I’d feel was disproportionate because I was thinking, ‘You think I’m crap because I’m watching crap.’

“Then I’d think, ‘That’s interesting, I’ve worked out what’s going on here without having a therapist in the room.’”

Despite admitting that she may have been a bit too harsh on Dan, Holly acknowledged that “anger is a brilliant emotion”.

The mum-of-three added to the Daily Mail: “Anger is a brilliant emotion because it cuts through bulls*** and if you can work out where it comes from it can be very revealing.”

Sharing further insight into her emotions over her differences of opinion with Dan in her new book, Reflections, Holly penned: “If I’m watching something on TV and my husband suddenly asks, ‘Why are you watching this s***?’, it’ll spark something deep inside and I will get disproportionately angry about it.

“But actually I’m angry because I subconsciously feel as though someone’s trying to control what I’m doing.

“My husband absolutely isn’t trying to control me, but I’m getting a really strong reaction, so maybe I’m worried about control in my life.

Holly and Dan are parents to Harry, 12, Belle, 10, and seven-year-old Chester.

The star previously shared her concerns about criticism over her dedication as a mum, as she balances being a parent with her presenting duties, new book, lifestyle brand Wylde Moon, and fashion ranges.

Speaking to Fearne Cotton on her Happy Place podcast, Holly said: “I had to challenge the set of beliefs I was living by.

“I’m feeling mega guilty now. Why? What’s making me feel guilty? Is it that I’m working too much?

“Like the whole working mum thing, for example, is like ‘Oh my God, I’m a working mum, I can’t drop my kids off at school in the morning because i’m always at work.’”
