You can now travel to one of Europe’s top holiday destinations by train

HOLIDAYMAKERS will be able to reach one of Europe’s top holiday destinations by train before the end of this month.

Rising flight costs have people searching for different and less expensive ways to get away this year.

One method is on the Eurostar, which connects London with Paris and beyond.

However, a new train service will soon make it easier for Brits to explore elsewhere on the continent.

European Sleeper, who specialise in sleeper trains, will be launching their Good Night train, which can take Brits from the Eurostar on to Berlin, via Amsterdam.

The German capital is a popular place for city breaks as well as stag and hen parties.

The new route will see passengers board the service in Brussels, which can be reached directly from London.

From there they will spend the night in a couchette before waking up in Berlin, after two stops in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

The service will be starting on Thursday, May 25, although tickets can already be purchased online.

Three trains will run between Brussels and Berlin each week with tickets starting at €49 (£43) per person for a one-way journey.

All guests will be given a free breakfast, with a coffee, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi when on the train.

According to Time Out, Brits will be able to board the 15:04 train from London and arrive in Brussels in time to have a quick beer in Belgium before changing onto the sleeper service.

The Good Night train isn’t the only service European Sleeper are launching either, as they look to make Europe more accessible by train.

Another of their new routes will link Amsterdam to Barcelona, via Rotterdam, Antwerp, Brussels, Lille, Avignon, Montpellier, Perpignan, Figueras and Girona.

There are as of yet no concrete details about how long it will take to make the full journey, other than the fact it will run overnight.

The company said in a statement: “The Amsterdam-Barcelona night train will strongly improve Europe’s quality of north-south rail connections.

“Even more so because one travels efficiently while asleep on the night train, and distances are reduced to just a night away.

“European Sleeper aims to start the new night train between Amsterdam and Barcelona in the spring of 2025.”

Meanwhile, Brits can reach France, which has been dubbed the world’s most popular holiday destination on the train thank to direct Eurostar services between London and Paris.
