Xbox Live DOWN: Is Xbox Live not working? Is party chat down?

Xbox Live down reports are surging in today, with users reporting issues with Xbox party chat. Independent outage monitor Down Detector has recorded a spike in Xbox Live down reports. According to Down Detector UK, a peak of around 1,800 Xbox Live down reports have been recorded – while downdetector.com has seen a similar high.

Server connection problems are the biggest issues plaguing Xbox Live users today, according to Down Detector stats.

Other issues users have reported are login problems and general gameplay issues.

As the reported Xbox Live issues hit users took to social networking site Twitter to report the problems they were facing.

One tweeted: “@XboxSupport Xbox party chat isn’t working. Says “Connecting” Everytime I join friends party, vice versa. Please fix.”

While another posted: “@Xbox why is my party chat on the Xbox one not working at the moment?”

One added: “Anyone else’s Xbox party chat down?”

And another wrote: “@XboxSupport Xbox party chat seems to be having issues atm, at least in the UK. Is this being looked into? Either kicked from parties randomly with no notification and not being able to join a party, just stuck on connecting…”

In the aftermath of these reports coming in the official Xbox Support Twitter confirmed there were aware of reported issues with party chat and were investigating it.

The @XboxSupport Twitter posted: “We are aware that some users may be experiencing issues using party chat on Xbox Live. For more information, please follow here or check out http://xbox.com/status”.
