Rey Mysterio has reflected on the whirlwind of emotions surrounding a memorable night at WrestleMania 39.

The newest member of the WWE Hall of Famer beat his own son Dominik Mysterio in a brilliant and deep match on Saturday night, while the legendary masked luchador was able to pay tribute to the late, great Eddie Guerrero by coming out in a low rider to his iconic theme tune with Snoop Dogg at the wheel.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk in a press conference after the show, he said: ‘To be able to ride with Snoop was legendary. Nuthin’ But A G Thang, baby is something that I heard when I was a kid growing up, everybody heard that song.

‘And then to mix it up into Viva La Raza, the representation of the representor, the fullest representor of Hispanics, Eddie Guerrero. It’s incredible I walked into that match very emotional. A lot of my work tonight was in honour of Eddie Guerrero.’

There was more emotion that just the entrance too, with the highs of his Hall of Fame induction and uniting with Legado del Fantasma on SmackDown as the new Latino World Order to the lows of battling his own flesh and blood.

He added: ‘Oh my God, you can already imagine. I already had mixed emotions from the Hall of Fame the night before, the rebirth of the lWo, knowing that I had to fight my son…

‘Knowing that my wife and my daughter were there, a lot of family members on top of that.’

Rey was driven out into SoFi Stadium with Snoop Dogg behind the wheel of a classic low rider as Nuthin But A G Thang blared out, and suddenly, a shout of ‘Viva La Raza’ rang out as Guerrero’s iconic theme music hit.

The entire stadium got to their feet chanting Eddie’s name in a very meaningful moment, given Rey, Eddie and Dominik’s legendary history, including a match between Rey and Eddie the last time WrestleMania went Hollywood back in 2005.

It was a fitting way for Rey to hit the ring as he came out to face his son Dominik Mysterio as their bitter rivalry came to the grandest stage.

He even got the job done with an assist from Bad Bunny and the newly revamped Latino World Order, putting an exclamation mark on an incredible weekend.

WrestleMania 39 continues tonight (Saturday, April 2) at 1am live on the WWE Network.
