WWE superstars Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler celebrate winning the Women's Tag Team Championships on Raw in May 2023

WWE crowned new Women’s Tag Team Champions on Raw after Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were forced to give up the gold.

An injury suffered by Liv during a recent title match on SmackDown means she’s going to be out of action for what appears to be a lengthy spell, and the team of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler have made the most of the opportunity.

Monday night’s episode of the red brand featured a high stakes Fatal 4 Way as Ronda and Shayna came out on top in a match featuring Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green, Damage CTRL’s Bayley and Iyo Sky, and Raquel with her new partner Shotzi.

The action build nicely until Shotzi went for a Senton off the top rope, only to be caught by the Baddest Woman On The Planet, who locked in a devastating Armbar.

It didn’t take long for the green-haired star to tap out, giving real life friends Ronda and Shayna their first taste of tag team gold.

Elsewhere on the show, the women’s division got highlighted further as Trish Stratus addressed her victory over Becky Lynch at Night of Champions with the help of Zoey Stark.

The Man – who was left a bloody mess on Saturday – had heard enough and came out to challenge the Hall of Famer to a fight, taking out her backup briefly before Zoey saved Trish, helping her lay out Becky again.

Seth Rollins celebrates, Money In The Bank qualifying matches get underway and more

Raw got started with Seth Rollins coming out to celebrate his World Heavyweight Championship victory over AJ Styles.

He came through the crowd in a nice nod to his days in The Shield, with the crowd singing his theme music for a long time before he started talking, addressing the fans and his historic win, repeating the idea of the title as one for the workhorse.

Eventually, Styles came out (despite being a SmackDown star) to congratulate him, only for The Judgment Day to come out in an attempt to steal the thunder, leading to a tag match in the main event.

It was an absolutely brilliant bout with Damian Priest and Finn Balor representing the group with Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley at ringside.

Everyone had the time to shine here with the action on point throughout as Styles and Rollins got the win.

Going back to the first match of the night, Ricochet qualified for the men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match with a win over The Miz.

Like the A-Lister’s bout with Rollins recently, this was proof of how good Miz actually is, as he kept up with the One And Only despite his loss, even hitting a great springboard crossbody.

Indus Sher picked up more momentum with another dominating win over two unknown wrestlers as Veer and Sanga – led by Jinder Mahal – look to make a splash on the tag scene.

Speaking of tag team, the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions were in a great mood as Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens addressed their win over Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions.

Imperium interrupted them, leading to a fun back and forth before Alpha Academy came out to set up a match with Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.

Maxxine Dupri is now an official member of the Academy (poor Maximum Male Models), and looked on as Chad Gable and Otis lost to Imperium in a thoroughly entertaining match.

JD McDonagh and Dolph Ziggler went to a double count out as the Irish Ace decimated his veteran rival and destroyed him with the ring steps.

Cody Rhodes, again wearing a sling, laid down an open challenge to Brock Lesnar for a future date after refusing to tap out at Night of Champions.

In the penultimate match of the night, Shinsuke Nakamura qualified for Money In The Bank after beating Bronson Reed in a hard fought bout.

WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
