S Club are preparing for their big return to the stage on their reunion tour later this year, but it’ll be markedly different due to the absence of both Paul Cattermole and Hannah Spearritt.

The Reach For The Stars hitmakers announced earlier this year that all seven of them – Rachel Stevens, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Tina Barrett, Hannah and Cattermole – would be getting back together to hit the road with a brand new set of shows.

Spanning 11 dates, the jaunt will visit a range of cities including London, Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham to mark the pop legends’ 25th anniversary.

However, in April, S Club were rocked when Cattermole died suddenly of natural causes at the age of 46.

Shortly after, it was announced that Hannah, 42, would not be joining in light of Cattermole’s death.

In May, S Club members Jo, Bradley, Rachel, Jon and Tina released a tearful video in which they spoke out about Cattermole’s death for the first time. They also confirmed that they will be going ahead with the tour this October but that Hannah would no longer be joining them.

It was also announced that the group, formerly known as S Club 7, were now rebranding as S Club.

Addressing Hannah’s absence, Jon said: ‘You’ve probably noticed that there’s only five of us here today, and although Hannah will always be part of S Club 7, she won’t be joining us on this tour.

‘We wish her all the best for the future.’

‘However, the five of us are really excited and geared up to crack on,’ he assured.

It was later claimed that Hannah had hired lawyers to renegotiate her contract with music mogul Simon Fuller’s talent company since resolution chats have become ‘tricky.’

A source confirmed to MailOnline: ‘It is a shame that it has got to the point where Hannah has had to get lawyers.’

When will Hannah Spearritt return to S Club?

During an appearance on The One Show on Friday, Jon said: ‘The door is always open.’

He went on: ‘We’ve got lots of stuff coming up after the tour, we’ve got loads of stuff coming up at the end of this year, but there’s loads of projects that we’re working on for next year as well.

‘She could always pop in and join us maybe for something next year.’

What has Hannah Spearritt said about Paul Cattermole’s death?

Cattermole’s death particularly affected Hannah as the two were childhood friends before going on to date each other at the height of their fame in the early noughties.

During their first relationship, they were together for five years before they parted ways in 2006. They later rekindled their romance for one final time in 2015, however, they parted ways again after a few months.

Speaking out about his death for the first time, Hannah admitted: ‘I’m trying my best to hold it together but once I start, I can’t stop crying.

‘And then I have to keep myself together for our two kids. I can’t even imagine any mother losing their child.’

She added to The Sun: ‘My heart is broken for him and his family. He was happier than he had been in years, so for this to happen now, makes it even more heartbreaking.’
