The jury is out as to who could be in the running to replace Phillip Schofield on ITV’s Dancing On Ice.
The presenter, 61, initially resigned from This Morning last week with immediate effect.
However he then admitted to an affair with a young runner, which he insisted was ‘unwise, but not illegal’.
Phil has resigned from ITV as a whole, including his role on Dancing On Ice which he presents with Holly Willoughby, and will not present the British Soap Awards, which will go on without him.
Certain names have already been brought up as to who could replace the former This Morning presenter – so, who could be the next presenter of Dancing On Ice?
Marvin Humes and Rochelle Humes
Celebrity couple Rochelle Humes and Marvin Humes are currently among the favourites to take over the slot from Phil and Holly.
Both have good experience with ITV shows under their belts, with Rochelle previously hosting episodes of This Morning.
Marbin, meanwhile, has guest-presented on ITV’s Loose Women.
According to Gambling.com, Rochelle is currently 6/5 to replace Phillip on This Morning, while Marvin is a little further down the list on 7/1.
Stephen Mulhern
Another name high up the list of potential presenters to take over from Phil in Dancing On Ice is Stephen Mulhern.
Already in the hot seat of ITV’s Deal Or No Deal, he preiously presented the likes of Catchphrase and Britain’s Got Talent.
He also previously stood in for Phil on Dancing On Ice last year, when the usual presenter was off sick with Covid-19.
Ladbrokes have Stephen on the top of their list for the role, with Alex Apati of the company saying: ‘The latest odds suggest a familiar face in the Dancing On Ice family will get the gig, with the betting leaning towards a whole host of guest presenters.’
He added: ‘Stephen Mulhern is the unsurprising favourite for the role as things stand, while [Gemma Collins] is firmly among the rank outsiders.’
Christine Lampard
The star is a staple of ITV, regularly appearing on Loose Women, and also previously took part in Dancing On Ice.
Kem Cetinay
Kem Cetinay isn’t too far from a frontrunner to take over from Phil Schofield, with odds of 4/1.
He shot to fame on ITV reality dating series Love Island, and went on to appear on the 2018 series of Dancing On Ice, coming fourth.
Kem has also worked as the digital presenter of the show, meaning he’d have a good grasp of what it takes.
Joel Dommett
The Masked Singer presenter Joel Dommett could be taking to the ice rink in 2024, Ladbrokes suggests, with odds of 9/2.
He has plenty of presenting experience and isn’t afraid to go outside of his comfort zone, having previously appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016.
While the guessing game has already begun, an ITV spokesperson told Metro.co.uk in a statement that they are not starting to produce the next series just yet.
‘Dancing On Ice isn’t due on ITV until January 2024 and the series is not currently in production,’ they said in a statement.
They added that ‘further announcements’ would be made in due course, including conformation of who will be presenting the ice skating show next year.
