What channel is Penn State vs. Iowa on today? Time, TV schedule for Week 6 Big Ten football game

Of the 30 meetings between Iowa and Penn State all-time, this weekend’s iteration is perhaps the most historic given where the two programs currently rank nationally.

This year marks the first since 2015 when Iowa’s been ranked inside the top-10 and the No. 3 ranking in front of the Hawkeyes is their highest since Week 13 of the same season. No. 4 Penn State meanwhile, has been ranked as high as No. 2 under coach James Franklin, and are no strangers to the top-five.

But it’s the juncture at which this game is taking place that makes it particularly special.

Eliminate Michigan from the above equation, and the matchup gets even more historic.

The two programs’ defenses are playing at a high level as well. Iowa and Penn State rank second and third, respectively, in fewest points allowed per game behind only Georgia. The Hawkeyes also lead the nation in interceptions with 12 and rank fifth in the Big Ten in sacks.

Penn State, meanwhile, is one of the better offensive teams in the Big Ten as well, with quarterback Sean Clifford ranking third in the conference in both passing yards and touchdowns. The Nittany Lions are also one of the hottest teams in college football, currently on a nine-game winning streak dating back to last season.
