West Ham United legend Dicks to raffle signed boots for charity

West Ham legend Julian Dicks is raffling a pair of his boots that he has autographed in order to raise money for two charities close to his heart.

The former Hammers and Liverpool defender will split the proceeds between the Make a Wish Foundation, which helps fulfil the dreams of youngsters with critical illnesses, as well as The Isla Caton Fund.

Dicks has supported the two charities for some time, and intends to regularly give away prizes to ensure further funds are raised.

Isla was a young West Ham fan who sadly died at the age of just seven in January this year after suffering with neuroblastoma for the last five years of her short life.

Since then, Isla’s family have raised more than £200,000 which will help fund innovative new research to find better and safer treatments for children with neuroblastoma.

“Isla’s family are all big West Ham fans, and Isla captured the hearts of the West Ham family as well as the wider footballing community,” said Dicks.

“I am always very keen to give something back and by continually supporting these two charities I hope to do my best to give help children who need it.”

The main prize in this latest raffle is a pair of boots personally signed by Dicks, while there are a number of runners-up prizes of photographs signed by some of Dicks’ former footballing teammates such as Franck McAvennie, Tony Gale and Ray Stewart.

Entry costs £2.50 per number, and you can pick as many numbers as you like (there are 750 spaces available in the draw). Once all the numbers are sold, Dicks will pick out the winning numbers and the draw will be streamed on Twitter.

To buy tickets and support two magnificent charities, simply follow Dicks’ wife Lisa on Twitter (@LisaDicks03), drop her a message and she will sort out payment via PayPal.
