Mateusz Strzelczyk and Rafael Xavier exchanged leg kicks in the third round of the MMA clash when the sickening moment occurred.

The Pole had endured a massive beatdown over the course of the two and a half rounds before he lifted his leg to try and land a front kick on his opponent.

But Xavier simultaneously launched a roundhouse kick of his own.

His knee smacked into the shinbone of Strzelczyk  and an audible snapping sound was heard when Strzelczyk attempted to step back on his foot.

His shinbone looked to have sickeningly snapped in half as he fell to the mat.

Xavier (12-7) instantly put both hands on his head in disbelief and turned away while the referee rushed in to stop the fight.

The 32-year-old ended up gaining the victory via TKO at 2:47 of Round 3.

But the stoppage meant Strzelczyk, 32, had his three-fight winning streak ended in devastating fashion.
