WATCH: Maegan Aguilar sings own version of dad Freddie’s ‘Anak’
Months after publicly asking her estranged dad Freddie Aguilar for financial help, Maegan Aguilar sang her heart out as she delivered her own version of his hit song “Anak.”
Maegan effortlessly belted out the song on a karaoke while seemingly drinking alongside other companions, as seen in a video reposted last March 8 on a Facebook page under her name.
The video was shared on several social media platforms including TikTok, wherein netizens applauded her but at the same time felt sorry for her for “wasting” such talent because of alleged drug addiction.
It can be recalled that Maegan spoke up against her dad in 2014 and claimed he kicked her and her children out of his house because of “rotten vegetables.” At the time, Maegan said she was done “covering up” for Freddie who she called a “bad man and a negligent father.” Maegan and Freddie then reconciled the following year.
The father and daughter made headlines again earlier this year after the latter appeared on the show “Raffy Tulfo in Action” to ask help from her dad. Maegan disclosed that she almost died in November last year due to pneumonia and hyperthyroidism, and that her dad paid for her hospitalization at the time.
Due to lack of financial resources, Maegan was not able to continue her treatments, prompting her to reach out once again to Freddie. Freddie then revealed that he was already on talking terms with his daughter, but that she was still not allowed to enter his house until she really changed for the better.
Sen. Raffy Tulfo, the host of the show, then promised to help Maegan, who admitted that she used drugs before, if she tested negative in the hair follicle drug test. Unfortunately, the test turned out positive.
Despite this, Maegan maintained that she is not a drug addict but an “exhausted sick person.” /ra
