Watch: German Embassy staffers in India dance on RRR’s Naatu Naatu

The Oscar-winning Naatu Naatu song from RRR has taken over the world. Currently, India is celebrating the song’s win at the 95th Academy Awards.

As many celebrated the outstanding feat, Dr Philipp Ackermann, the German ambassador to India, took to the streets of Old Delhi to dance to the song’s beats.

The ambassador and several members of his team performed a flash mob near the Red Fort to the tune of Naatu Naatu. The video was even posted on his Twitter account.

Along with the video, he wrote, “Germans can’t dance? Me & my Indo-German team celebrated #NaatuNaatu’s victory at #Oscar95 in Old Delhi. Ok, far from perfect. But fun! Thanks, @rokEmbIndia for inspiring us. Congratulations & welcome back @alwaysRamCharan and @RRRMovieteam! #embassychallange is open. Who’s next?”

Meanwhile, Last month, 50 diplomats and staff from the Korean Embassy, as well as Indian and Korean nationals working at the Korean Cultural Centre, danced to Naatu Naatu.

Naatu Naatu is the first Telugu song to be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Original Song category. It beat out famous names like Rihanna and Lady Gaga to win the honour. Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, as well as composer and director SS Rajamouli and lead stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan, attended the awards ceremony.

The lyrical composition by MM Keeravani, the high-intensity renditions by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, the distinctive choreography by Prem Rakshith, and the lyrics by Chandrabose are all factors that contribute to the success of this RRR popular song.
