Warning for Genshin Impact players – you could lose access to your account

GENSHIN Impact and Honkai: Star Rail players have been warned to update their settings or they could be locked out of their accounts.

The login for accounts is changing on April 29, and players have to be prepared.

Due to changes to the rules of Twitter some players will be locked out of their accounts in the next few days.

This is because Twitter is restricting free access to its API, which is used by some players to log in to various platforms.

If you use your Twitter username and password to log in to your Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail accounts, this issue affects you.

Those who do not change their login method from Twitter before April 19 are at risk of losing access.

In order to prevent it, you will need to change your login method to something else.

HoYoverse, the publisher of both games, recommends using your email to ensure you continue to have access to your accounts.

You can change the login method for both games at once, making the switchover an easy process.

In order to do so, players need to log in to their HoYoverse accounts, and link their email address under ‘Account Security Settings’.

Do not use the ‘log in using social media’ links below, as you will face problems after Twitter’s API changes.

If you already use the email address linked to your Twitter account, you should have no problems with logging in.

This will link your email to your account, and allow you to use it to log in at a later day.
