Wallace free to play after successful judiciary appeal

Dolphins utility Jarrod Wallace has won his judiciary appeal against a three-game ban for a shoulder charge on Spencer Leniu.

The other man taking his fight to the judiciary, Maika Sivo, was not so lucky.

Wallace was put on report the the alleged shoulder charge on Leniu in the 36th minute of the Dolphins 24-14 loss to the Panthers on Sunday afternoon.

He was offered three games for the early plea on the grade one charge, but elected to risk an extra match by going to the judiciary.

He was successful, and is free to play the Dolphins next game against the Bulldogs in round 22.

Parramatta’s star winger Junior Paulo opted to push for a downgrade to his grade two careless high tackle charge on Jojo Fifita in the Eels narrow win over the Titans in the following game.

Paulo was also offered three matches, but will now serve four after his appeal was thrown out.

Sivo marched to the bin

Given the Eels have already lost Reagan Campbell-Gillard for the next four games for his knees-in-the-back effort on Chris Randall, Sivo’s loss is an even bigger hit to the club pushing to cement themselves inside the top-eight late in the season.

Sivo is tied with teammate and skipper Clint Gutherson for third on the try-scorers list for the season.

Sivo was named in the Eels side to take on the in-form Cowboys on Saturday night, but his place will now likely be taken by Waqa Blake or Haze Dunster.
