Venom #1 Has Eddie Brock’s Son Ignore His Dad’s Main Symbiote Rule (Preview)

Marvel Comics presents an exclusive preview of Venom #1, by Al Ewing, Ram V and Bryan Hitch.

Marvel Comics has given CBR an exclusive preview of Venom #1, by Al Ewing, Ram V, Bryan Hitch, Andrew Currie, Alex Sinclair and VC’s Clayton Cowles. In the preview, new symbiote host Dylan Brock reveals the rules laid down for him by his father, Eddie — and he breaks all of them.

Created by Donny Cates and Iban Coello, Dylan first appeared in 2018’s Venom #7. The son of Anne Weying and Eddie Brock, Dylan’s destiny essentially became to destroy Knull, the dark god of the symbiotes. When that villain attempted to take over the universe during the King in Black event, Dylan eventually became host to his father’s old symbiote. Meanwhile, Eddie gained access to the Hive-Mind, giving him the power to control other symbiotes.

As the preview for Venom #1 reveals, Eddie told Dylan not to do a few specific things after becoming host to a symbiote: “Dont get into any kind of trouble. Don’t draw attention to yourself. And whatever you do don’t bond with the symbiote.” However, the pages themselves make clear that Dylan has broken all of those rules. This causes some tension between Dylan and his symbiote. The preview then ends with Eddie — who dubs himself the “King in Black” and “King of All Symbiotes” — commanding his new symbiote army while in space.

Set to release Nov. 10, Venom #1 features covers from Bryan Hitch and Alex Sinclair; John Romita Jr., John Dell and Richard Isanove; Peach Momoko; Bill Sienkiewicz; Gabrielle Dell’Otto; Inhuk Lee; Chris Bachalo; Todd Nauck and Rachelle Rosenberg; and Angel Medina and Rachelle Rosenberg.
