Veeam ropes in Citrix’s Kushagra Sharma to lead marketing strategy in India and SAARC

US-based backup, disaster recovery and data management solution provider Veeam Software has roped in senior enterprise and public sector marketing leader Kushagra Sharma to lead its marketing and outreach in India and the SAARC region.

Based out of Bangalore, Sharma will be responsible for overseeing the company’s engagement strategy, perceptions and positioning in India and SAARC across all segments including enterprise, government, public sector and hyperscalers.

Veeam Software provides a single platform for Cloud, Virtual, Physical, SaaS, and Kubernetes environments, and the company’s backup, recovery, and data management solutions are utilised by over 4 lakh firms globally. Since its acquisition by Insight Partners in March 2020, the company has rapidly expanded in the new market and relocated its headquarters from Switzerland to the United States.

Before joining Veeam, Sharma has been providing overall business leadership to achieve marketing priorities and accelerate the software as a service (SaaS) transition in India and South Asia through Citrix solutions.

Prior to Citrix, he was country marketing manager at VMware and Micro Focus where he led the joint go-to-market strategy and thought leadership for both direct selling and partner ecosystem.

In a career spanning over 18 years, Sharma has worked with organisations like VMware, Micro Focus, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and IBM, among others.

Sharma is an alumnus of UCLA Anderson School of Management and IIM-Ahmedabad. He did his post-graduation from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune, and a Bachelor in Engineering from Dayananda Sagar Institutions, Bengaluru.

Sharma, a runner and strategic marketing enthusiast, is an ardent writer and co-author of The Growth Hacking Book 2, which focuses on entrepreneur exponential growth.
