UP NMMS scholarship 2023 application window opens tomorrow on entdata.co.in – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The registration process for the Uttar Pradesh National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination (UP NMMS) is set to begin tomorrow, August 23, 2023. Interested candidates who wish to apply can visit the official website at entdata.co.in and apply starting tomorrow.
The last date to register is September 18, 2023. Applications will be accepted in the online mode only, submissions through postal services or any other methods will not be taken into consideration.
How to apply for UP NMMS scholarship 2023?
  • To apply, the candidate has to visit the official website.
  • Click on Apply displayed on the homepage.
  • A new window will open, enter your login details and submit.
  • Proceed with filling up the online application form and upload all the required documents.
  • Download the confirmation page and take its printout for further reference.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the National Income and Merit Based Scholarship Scheme Examination 2024-25, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Performance: Students should have secured a minimum of 55 percent marks (with a 5 percent relaxation for Scheduled Tribes) in their current academic year.
  • School Enrollment: Eligible students must be enrolled in class 8 during the 2023-24 academic session in government, non-government aided, or local body (council) schools.
  • Exceptions: It is important to note that students in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sainik School, Government Residential, and Private Schools are NOT eligible to participate.
  • Income basis: The combined income of the candidate’s parents from all sources should not exceed Rs. 3,50,000.00 (Rupees three lakh fifty thousand only).

No Application Fee
There is no application fee for appearing in this examination.
Document Requirements
Candidates are required to upload the income certificates issued by the Tehsildar or Competent officer.
Additionally, candidates are required to upload the below mentioned documents:

  • Caste certificate from the competent authority
  • Disability status certificate
  • A copy of class 7 report card

Failure to upload the reservation certificate will result in the candidate being considered as a general category applicant.
About UP NMMS Exam
UP NMMS is an annual exam conducted to identify eligible class 8 students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The aim is to offer scholarships to these students, encouraging them to pursue higher education.
