Twitch bans Kai Cenat amid Kick move rumours

Top streamer Kai Cenat has been banned from Twitch for the fifth time, amid mounting rumours of a possible switch to rival platform Kick.

After shattering subscriber records previously held by Ludwig and Ninja during his subathon in February, Cenat has rightfully earned the title of Twitch royalty.

Despite facing controversies like passing out after eating cannabis-infused snacks and being accused of performing sex acts on Twitch, Cenat has managed to avoid severe penalties from the purple platform.

Now, the streamer has been hit with a mysterious Twitch ban, leaving fans wondering if this will be the final straw that drives him to defect to Kick.

Cenat took to his Twitter account to confirm the ban, simply stating ‘BANNED,’ without disclosing any details regarding its duration or cause.

A visit to the streamer’s Twitch page also confirms the ban, as the typical message indicating a violation of the platform’s community guidelines is displayed.

While neither the streamer nor Twitch has disclosed the reason for the ban, most of his fans seem to believe it’s linked to Cenat crashing a dirt bike into his setup just a few days prior.

According to Twitch’s guidelines, the platform reserves the right to suspend any account due to self-destructive behaviour and strictly prohibits any activity that could potentially endanger life or cause physical harm.

In some cases, this also includes dangerous activities performed as ‘a stunt or gag made in jest or meant to entertain.’

Similar to Cenat’s case, fellow streamer JinnyTTY was banned for driving recklessly on a scooter during a broadcast.

The streamer’s ban follows several rumours of high-profile Twitch personalities possibly departing the platform in favour of rival Kick.

As a matter of fact, it appears that the platform is keen to lure Cenat away from Twitch, given that it gifted him a custom pair of OffWhite Air Force sneakers recently.

It’s likely the gift was intended as a subtle dig at Twitch, which gave the streamer sneakers instead of a contract after his viral subathon.
