TVS Motor exports over 1 million two-wheelers for the first time in a year in FY22
These include exports from TVS Motor Company and PT TVS, Indonesia.
“The one million export mark is a significant milestone for TVS Motor Company. This further underscores our path towards being a global player in personal mobility solutions,” Sudarshan Venu, the Joint Managing Director of TVS Motor said in a statement.
The company has a presence across 80 countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, Indian Sub-Continent and Central and Latin America. It is also looking to enter more markets in Europe and North America, as per the press statement.
The key exports include the TVS’ Apache, HLX, Raider and Neo two-wheelers. The company said that global motorcycle sales increased significantly during the current year, helping it achieve the milestone.
Rival Bajaj Auto, which is the largest motorcycle exporter from India has sold 1.86 million units between April 2021 and January 2022, a growth of 27% over the same period in the preceding year. The Pune-based company now sells more vehicles overseas than in India.
The stock of TVS Motor closed 1.37% lower on the BSE on Wednesday at Rs 653.15. The benchmark Sensex closed 0.12% lower.
