Tszyu’s chilling ‘silencer’ promise to Ben Horn

Nikita Tszyu has made no secret of his intentions ahead of his fight against Ben Horn, saying he is hoping to put his opponent “to sleep” with a brutal knockout.

Tszyu and Horn’s super welterweight fight is the headline act on a card which also features NRL star Justin Hodges, who will face Jordan Simi in a heavyweight bout.

Tszyu (2-0) has already claimed two knockout wins in his short professional career, but believes referees have gotten in the way of him causing some real damage.

“Honestly I’d like a silencer knockout, where it’s like a one-punch,” Tszyu said after the weigh-ins on Tuesday.

“The first two fights I’ve had the referee stop it and I honestly felt like it was early stoppages. But the referee is doing his job.

“I want to produce those devastating knockouts, the ones that put people to sleep.”

Horn (4-4) was not prepared to take a backward step either, saying Tszyu’s aggressiveness could open him up to some trouble.

“I’m looking for the same thing. If it comes forward and he comes fighting, he might run into one of my big shot.

“Kudos to him, let’s see what happens. I’m more than keen for him to come flying straight forward at me and letting me land one of my big shots straight on his head. Let’s see how he takes it.”
