Transformers Rise of the Beasts: The Predacons will be different to how you remember

Transformers Rise of the Beasts will introduce both the Maximals and the Predacons to the big screen for the first time. These robots in disguise are inspired by the Beast Wars series, which showed the likes of Optimus Prime transforming into animals rather than vehicles. The upcoming film is set before the events of 2007’s Transformers, which was directed by Michael Bay, but after the events of Bumblebee.

Caple Jr went on: “We’ve seen a few in the other Transformers films, but we’ve never had the chance to focus in on their logo, their tribe if you will.

“We get to see another side to them. It’s all about building a backstory to these characters that are more than just: ‘Let’s take over the world!'”

This is quite a large change for the classic villains, considering the Predacons consisted of bugs, wolves, spiders and dinosaurs in the source material cartoons.

Still, it will be interesting to see how these changes affect the upcoming story.

Optimus Primal is sure to have his hands full battling the Predacons as well as the Terracons, but he will be doing it with a brand new voice actor following the news Ron Perlman will be the new star behind the robot.

He is joined by Anthony Ramos, the new human protagonist for the series.

The In The Heights actor recently opened up about taking over from the previous actors, saying: “I just started Transformers, so I’ll talk to you hopefully in a few months and I’ll let you know which one ended up being harder.

“It was Shia LaBeouf, Mark Wahlberg and Hallie Steinfeld and [now] me.”

Ramos went on: “It’s very different … it’s very different. Transformers has transformed!

“Steven Caple Jr is a visionary, I cannot wait for people to see this man flex and really show everybody the fullness of his glory.

“We got some things cooking up for y’all, y’all don’t even know.”

Transformers Rise of the Beasts is due to arrive in cinemas on June 24, 2022.
