An explorer who stumbled upon an abandoned lakefront home in Ontario, Canada, has found some usual features hiding at the property.
Professional urban explorer Dave came across the stunning find – thought to be worth millions – despite significant decay.
The abandoned mansion, built in 1968, was purchased during its heyday for almost $5million.
But now, just the bare bones remain – as well as some intriguing oddities.
The 32ft-tall totem pole that stands in the front yard, which was carved for Canada’s 1967 centennial, is perhaps one of the most unusual finds.
While Dave was unable to source any documentation of the origin of the pole, he believes it has been there since the property was built.
But the abandoned basement holds even more secrets, including a wine cellar, library, and indoor swimming pool with a mystery gadget, featuring strange buttons for ‘sun, steam, rain, towel light, a warm breeze, and just ambiance.’
A perplexed Dave tells viewers in his video clip: ‘It’s got this thing where you can hang a towel and then it looks like you can lay down in it.
‘I have no idea what’s going on here, what this thing is, or what it does.
‘I’ve never seen anything like it.’
However, the explorer goes onto say he reckons this device might be a sauna of some kind.
After sharing the video with his 83,800 followers, most have been awe-struck by the beauty of the property.
One person said: ‘This house is awesome. One of my favorites ever. The view… I don’t know if I’d ever leave the house – I can’t take my eyes off the water.’
Another wrote: ‘What an outstanding mansion! I would never want to leave this beauty. Views are so lovely. Thanks for the tour.’
