1.Ranking
Although this may not be important to everyone, many students tend to lean towards higher ranked universities, in particular, the Russell Group universities. You may find a list of these 24 universities on the official Russell Group website if you wish to attend one of these world-class institutes. It is also important to look into student satisfaction within the universities you apply to. Such information can be found on student forums such as the Student Room.
2.Required Grades
Before applying to any university, it is essential that you check the website of the university for the required grades for the specific course you are applying to.
3.Accommodation
The living space you have for the next couple years must be quality yet good value. Nowadays it is getting harder and harder to find affordable student accommodation, especially in London. The UCAS website has an easy to use accommodation search section: all you have to do is type the name of your college campus and available places to stay ranging from flat-shares to dormitory rooms. Of course this isn’t a concern if you decide to continue to live at home.
4.Societies and Sports
Each university has their own unique societies and ranges of enrichment activities which are a great way to meet new people and potential friends.
5.Location
Arguably the most important of the five, the location of the university you choose will be a huge decision as you’ll be deciding where you live for the next three or more years. It is essential to consider the environment you will be in and to understand what exactly it is that you want whether that is a busy and bustling atmosphere or a calm countryside setting.
