Three right wingers Manchester United could sign for free this summer

Manchester United will need to sign a whole host of players in the summer transfer window if Erik ten Hag is to implement his philosophy at Old Trafford. However, the club don’t have a bottomless pit of money at their disposal and so they’re going to need to be savvy.

United signed Jadon Sancho last summer to play on the right-hand side of their attack, but it has become clear that the winger is better suited to playing on the left. This means United will need to dip back into the market to address this problem in the upcoming window.

Let’s have a look at three free agents the club could sign to play on the right wing:

Ousmane Dembele

Dembele would be a great signing for United. The French winger has been playing some of the best football of his career since returning to the Barcelona squad under Xavi.

His injury problems should be something that United are wary of, but when he’s on top form he’s unstoppable and his dribbling ability makes him a nightmare for defenders. On a free transfer and reasonable wages, Dembele could be a great signing.

Federico Bernardeschi

Bernardeschi has never really settled at Juventus, but at Fiorentina he was a technically fantastic winger who was the main creative outlet for his side. At 28 he could still do a job for United and he could even act as a placeholder for Ten Hag until the club find a long-term solution.

Adnan Januzaj

Januzaj left Old Trafford in 2017 after failing to live up to the hype that surrounded him when he first broke into the senior side. United fans will remember his brace against Sunderland as the high point of his career at the club.

Given the fact United need reinforcements, bringing Januzaj back on a free transfer might not be the worst idea as he has come on leaps and bounds at Real Sociedad. While Januzaj would be a decent addition to the squad, Dembele should be the man United target if they do decide to explore the free-agent market.
