Three England stars named in Euro 2020 team of the tournament as Cristiano Ronaldo snubbed
Three England stars have been named in the Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament after their heroics this summer, which ended in a crushing defeat in the final at Wembley Stadium.
However, there is no room for Cristiano Ronaldo despite him breaking several records this summer.
England reached their first major final since 1966 but fell at the final hurdle.
Gareth Southgate’s side took Italy, who are unbeaten in three years, to a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw at the national stadium.
However, missed spot-kicks by Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka handed Italy their first tournament success since 2006.

Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was named as the best goalkeeper and takes his place in goal, although there will be some debate over whether Jordan Pickford was better.
Donnarumma is in the side alongside tournament-winning team-mates Leonardo Bonucci, Leonardo Spinazzola, Jorginho and Federico Chiesa.
Bonucci netted Italy’s equaliser in the final and his partnership with Giorgio Chiellini was excellent.
Spinazzola was a key threat for Italy at left wing-back until he devastatingly ruptured his Achilles in the quarter-final win over Belgium.
The full Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament is: Donnarumma; Walker, Bonucci, Maguire, Spinazzola; Jorginho, Hojbjerg, Pedri, Chiesa, Lukaku, Sterling.
It means that Portugal captain Ronaldo fails to make the team, despite finishing as the top scorer at the tournament.
The Juventus forward scored five goals, the same as Czech Republic’s Patrik Schick, but finishes in first place as he recorded more assists.
Ronaldo also become the highest-scoring European Championship player of all time.
