Saturday. Lace up your Jordans, Yeezys and Chucks for the return of Sneaker Con Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. The touring show offers sneakerheads and hypebeasts the chance to buy, sell and trade shoes in a huge marketplace catering to all those who see their kicks not just as fashionable footwear but as art, culture and a lifestyle.
In addition to more than 200 shoe and streetwear vendors, there will be sneaker trivia, rare shoes, giveaways, live auctions and more. You can also get your shoes authenticated by eBay experts. The all-ages event runs from noon to 7 p.m.; tickets are $29 at axs.com. 700 14th St. in Denver.

The 4/20 “holiday” was on Thursday, but the party never ends at Oskar Blues Brewery’s Longmont taproom, which hosts its first Dank Grass Fest on April 22,l featuring bluegrass bands and dank IPAs. “Groove to bluegrass music all day long and drink some of our hoppy, piney, odoriferous” IPAs, while enjoying munchies from food trucks, Oskar Blues said. There will also be vendors and some of the brewery’s “cannabis industry friends.
Beers include Nug Boat Captain, an 8.2 percent ABV hazy double IPA, and Dweeb, an 8 percent West Coast-style double IPA made with rye; The music kicks off at 12:30 with the High Lonesome Trio. They’ll be followed by Deer Creek Sharp Shooters at 2 p.m., The Wrecklunds at 4 p.m. and Tenth Mountain Division at 6 p.m. A percentage of proceeds will be going to Can’d Aid, the brewery-founded nonprofit. 1640 S. Green day
Saturday. Join other earth-loving citizens at P(art)y For the Planet, a family-friendly indoor-outdoor event that includes everything from zip-lining and rock climbing to a “pollination station” with free seed packets, face painting and eco-friendly art projects, according to organizer Non Plus Ultra. DJ JenG will be spinning tunes and there will be food available for purchase.
The party runs from noon to 4 p.m. at The Brighton, 3403 Brighton Blvd., one of Non Plus Ultra’s local event venues (and the former home of Great Divide Brewing’s packaging facility). Entry is free, but a $20 (per family) donation is encouraged and will be donated to the Denver Park Trust, which raises money for Denver Parks and Recreation to improve and add new parks.
Going old school
Sunday. ThriftCon, which started in Denver before going nationwide and now bills itself as “the nation’s premier vintage clothing and collectible convention, is back at the National Western Complex with more than 100 vendors selling your grandpa’s style – and plenty more. You can also buy, sell or trade collectibles at this one-day market.
ThriftCon runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the National Western, 4655 Humboldt St. in Denver. Tickets, available at thriftco.co, are $12 for general admission and $20 for early entry; kids under 13 are free. In addition to shopping for men’s and women’s classic and retro fashions, you can bring in your unwanted clothes to donate to the Denver Rescue Mission.
Sunday. And speaking of vintage, the Denver Record Expo celebrates its 30th anniversary with a big expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Delta by Marriott in Northglenn. There will be dealers from all over the United with more than 100 tables full of records of all kinds. Dealers will also be selling CDs, DVDs, posters, memorabilia and more. “Whether you are new to vinyl records or adding to your existing collection, you aren’t going to want to miss this show,” organizers said.
