‘There’s a lot going on’ Queen Rania divides fans with £4,000 coat

Queen Rania is currently in Rome where, yesterday, December 5, she met the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella. Rania joined her husband, King Abdullah II, for the visit.

Queen Rania was pictured in Rome carrying a unique Louis Vuitton bag.

She was wearing a grey trench coat with a wide, open collar and a wide belt, cinching in her tiny waist.

The coat was a new addition to the royal’s wardrobe and from Fendi. Called the Ombré Belted Trench Coat, the garment is currently out of stock, but retailed on fashion website Farfetch for £4,150.

The coat was two-tonal: its body was dark grey, but it had light grey finishes.

Underneath the coat, Rania wore a beige turtleneck jumper, which seemed to be made out of a tight, stretchy material.

She completed the outfit with a pair of black, knee-high boots from Jennifer Chamandi.

Called the Alessandra 105 Over-The-Knee Black Suede Boots, the shoes are currently for sale on Net-A-Porter, costing £1,655.

Describing the boots, the website said: “Gianvito Rossi’s boots are as classic as thigh-highs get – you’ll be turning to them for seasons to come. Made in Italy from supple suede, they have a pointed toe, stiletto heel and a side zip for a svelte fit.”

But what stood out the most about Rania’s outfit was her polka dot bag – a collaboration between Louis Vuittn and Yayoi Kusama, the bag is the Black Multi Polka-Dots Capucines Bag, which is brand-new.

The designers’ full collection will debut in stores and online in January 2023.

Rania’s bag was black, with a black and silver handle, and featured green, white, yellow, red, and blue polka dots.

It had the iconic LV symbol on its front, just below the handle.

Rania had styled her hair in waves, which fell down her back, and she donned her usual make-up look.

She wore black mascara, black eyeliner, eyeshadow, and a little bronzer.

Royal fans were quick to comment on the Queen’s look, with mixed reviews. Some fans liked Rania’s bag, while others weren’t as impressed.

Instagram user @selma_akf1 wrote: “Unfortunately no. There is a lot going on here.” User @stephaniedmv said: “The bag is busy.”

Danielle Fry claimed: “She got that bag quick. It does not look good with the coat.” User @goosegirlenfys suggested: “The coat almost looks like a spotlight is shining on her. It’s a beautiful effect. The bag is a little clownish in the most literal way. It might have looked great with another outfit, but here it’s incongruous.”

User @gargisshah commented: “Love ombre coat not fan of bag though.” User @teri_dost, however, liked the bag. They said: “I would prefer a different bag and top, so that the (amazing) coat would be in the centre of attention, but that bag is still great.”

Lauren Ashleigh wrote: “I’m not a fan of the coat as the design makes it look like the colour has faded. The bag is fun but doesn’t match well with the coat.” User @kanayatabitha01 said: “I love the coat and the purse, but I dont think they match.”

User @ojeannine said: “Impeccable, as always!” User @mydocuments_ added: “Oh my goodness I love this bag.”
