The Weeknd, Doja Cat coming to Empower Field at Mile High this summer
The Weeknd will turn Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High into Colorado’s largest concert venue on Aug. 18, with opener Doja Cat, as part of his After Hours Til Dawn tour.
The first-ever stadium tour by the Canadian R&B/hip-hop headliner is intended to make up for lost time with fans, as previous tour stops were canceled or postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fans who previously bought tickets for the After Hours arena tour in North America will have access to a presale starting at 10 a.m. Friday, March 4, and will receive an email prior to that date directly from Ticketmaster, Live Nation or the venue with more information, according to a press statement.
The Weeknd, a.k.a. Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, will showcase the past two albums for the first time live, promoters wrote, and the Denver show is part of the first leg of the tour that kicks off July 8 at Toronto’s Rogers Centre. Other venues The Weeknd and Doja Cat are playing include Chicago’s Soldier Field and Detroit’s Ford Field.
Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at ticketmaster.com. Prices are not yet available — as is promoter Live Nation’s policy of withholding them until the concert goes on sale. (Yeah, we think it’s dumb, too.)
