The Matrix Resurrections First Trailer Out Now

Warner Bros. had started teasing the Matrix 4 earlier this week. Warner Bros. has now dropped the first trailer for The Matrix Resurrections.

The trailer begins with Keanu Reeves’ Neo in a therapy session with Neil Patrick Harris’ therapist. Neo can be seen taking several blue pills and throwing them away later. The trailer seemingly shows young Morpheus giving Neo a red pill after saying, “It’s time to fly.” It also features Carrie-Anne Moss’ Trinity and Jonathan Groff as a new character in the movie. The Matrix Resurrections trailer offers a glimpse at some of the epic action scenes including physics-defying fights and explosions. The trailer was first shown to the press during CinemaCon.

The Matrix Resurrections is written and directed by Lana Wachowski, who has previously co-written and co-directed rest of the Matrix movies with her sister Lilly Wachowski. Reeves had previously praised the story of Matrix 4. He said, “Lana Wachowski wrote a beautiful script and a wonderful story that resonated with me. That’s the only reason to do it. To work with her again is just amazing. It’s been really special, and the story has, I think, some meaningful things to say, and that we can take some nourishment from.”

Moss was surprised when the she learnt that Matrix 4 is happening. She had said, “I never thought that it would happen. It was never on my radar at all. When it was brought to me in the way that it was brought to me, with incredible depth and all of the integrity and artistry that you could imagine, I was like, ‘This is a gift.’ It was just very exciting.”

The Matrix Resurrections is set to debut on December 22.
