Telangana High Court Felicitates SC Judge Justice Ramasubramanian and Wife for Remarkable Contributions – Times of India

HYDERABAD: The entire bench and the bar of the Telangana high court on Thursday came together to felicitate Supreme Court judge, Justice V Ramasubramanian and his wife Saraswati. While Advocate General BS Prasad reminded the audience about the concrete steps Justice Ramasubramanian took to resolve the Nizam era land tussles plaguing Telangana high court, Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan vowed to resolve all such pending tussles (known as CS-14 etc) in the light of the guiding judgments rendered by him from the apex court. His recent judgment in one CS 14 case would show us the way forward to wind up all such proceedings before us, the CJ said.
Simple to the core, but brilliant in mind, he is a system unto himself, said Telangana Bar Council chairman A Narasimha Reddy. Justice P Naveen Rao, HC advocates association President Palle Nageswara Rao and additional advocate general J Ramachandra Rao and scores of others felicitated the SC judge couple with shawls and garlands.
Justice Ramasubramanian thanked the advocates and judges for the overwhelming love they have been showering on him ever since he came to Hyderabad High Court as a judge on a transfer from Madras HC in 2016. He was here for three years, was elevated as CJ of Himachal HC and later rose to become a judge of the Supreme Court. It was during his stint at Hyderabad, the common high court was bifurcated into AP and Telangana high courts on Jan 1, 2019. I was the first judge to be elevated as CJ of another high court from Telangana high court. Later I was the first to become the judge of the apex court from here, he said. I became part of your history because I was here during those historical moments, he said.
Thanking all the judges of the Telangana high court who were present at the program, he urged them to think of the fact that they are now sitting in places where great judges like Justice Chinnapaa Reddy and Justice Subba Rao sat once. You should compare your work with theirs, he said. Rendering advice for the younger lot at the bar, Justice Ramasubramanian said that they should realise the satisfaction a lawyer derives when he succeeds in convincing a tough judge rather than always running after material wealth.
