Battle Stars is a Made-in-India shooter developed by Pune-based studio, SuperGaming, which is also behind Indus Battle Royale.
Battle Stars released globally for mobile gaming around three weeks ago and in that short amount of time it has been able to amass 2 million players worldwide through iOS App Store and Google Play Store. In order to commemorate this monumental occasion, SuperGaming will be introducing battle royale to Battle Stars with a map inspired by the city of Mumbai.
The map is being called “Aamchi Mumbai”. Here players will have to choose a hero to drop into the map and do their bidding. As it already has shooter-based gameplay, players will have to “shoot to survive” while also running from a shrinking storm to become the last man standing. The map will have Mumbai themed areas such as Mumbai Central, Metro Stations, Sea Links and more with elements such as “kaali-peeli” taxis, Hindi texts and the lot. Check out the map screenshots below:
The map will also include pick-ups that will grant you speed boosts, ammo and health. There are two new heroes that will be introduced to the game, Divya and Veer, based on Mumbai. While Divya will be able to defeat players with her flaming abilities, Veer can best opponents with his Boombox Beats. Check out the trailer for the new Battle Royale update in Battle Stars below:
Furthermore, this update is now live on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We will also see the continuation of Ujjwal Chaurasia aka Techno Gamerz and Battle Stars’ collaboration with new skins arriving along with the update. These skins include Desi Techno, Ujjawal and Hip Hop Techno. Check out how these skins will look in the game below:
Lastly, Battle Stars Season 1 has now concluded and top players from the leaderboard and selected community members will have the chance to meet Techno Gamerz in person and play Battle Stars with him. The game accomplished some great feats in Season 1, as it recorded over 2 million player hours and 3.7 million matches in just 3 weeks. The number 1 players on the leader board played a total of 8,942 matches.
Here’s what Christelle D’cruz, Battle Stars Game Lead and co-founder at SuperGaming shared on achieving this milestone:
“We are humbled with the response to Battle Stars particularly thanks to Techno Gamerz and his many fans that showed their support by downloading the game on launch day. Now with over two million players and counting in less than a month, this is the right time to add battle royale to the game. We’ve been testing the mode out internally for some time now and hope you have as much fun playing it as we did making it.”
