Where is Sun Street Hotel?

The hotel sits right on the dividing line of The City and Shoreditch, East London, which is reflected in the mix of traditional, quirky and luxury interiors.

The nearest tube stations are Moorgate and Liverpool Street, both a five-minute walk away.

What is Sun Street Hotel like?

It felt like we were staying in someone’s house instead of a hotel.

After ducking into the cosy lobby, we explored enough reception rooms to fill out a Cluedo board.

My favourite was the library, where guests can have a cocktail or afternoon tea, catch up with newspapers or do some work.

What is there to do at Sun Street Hotel?

The hotel serves Champagne brunches at weekends, to a soundtrack of jazz, blues and soul music.

The Barbican, Spitalfields Market, Brick Lane, The Tower Of London, St Paul’s Cathedral and much more are all within walking distance.

What is there to eat and drink at Sun Street Hotel?

The hotel has just launched its cool Orangery Bar & Kitchen, a light-filled atrium with twice-weekly DJs.

Sharing plates with an Asian influence include popcorn shrimp with spicy mayonnaise and crispy chicken rendang burgers.

There is also an excellent wood-panelled restaurant serving British food, where we dined on lamb rump, salt-baked beetroot and celeriac soup.

What are the rooms like at Sun Street Hotel?

Our room was small but chic – and quiet enough to hear a pin drop.

The bed was super comfy and the shower was excellent.

The evening paper on the bed and the choice of pre-made cocktails on the nightstand, along with a bucket of ice, were a thoughtful touch.

How much is Sun Street Hotel?

Rooms start at £350. Click here to book.

Is Sun Street Hotel family friendly?

Kids would be welcome here, but it isn’t geared up for little ones and there are no family rooms.

Is there access for guests with disabilities?

There are five accessible rooms with wider doors, wider access around the bed and in the bathroom, plus shower seats and grab-rails.

The hotel asks for guests who require additional support to call ahead of their visit.
