Studio 10 thrown into chaos as co-host tests positive

The Channel 10 morning show has been thrown into chaos after its co-host received a positive test ahead of today’s show.

Studio 10 host Tristan MacManus has tested positive to Covid-19, forcing him and his co-anchor Sarah Harris to isolate ahead of today’s show.

The pair both appeared remotely during a segment on this morning’s Channel 10 program, with MacManus, 39, telling fill-in hosts Matthew Johnson and Lachlan Kennedy he showed a positive result on a rapid antigen test on Wednesday afternoon.

“Yesterday when we came into work, I was feeling a bit shady. I was really tired and hadn’t slept the night before and was really cold. I put it down to the fact I’ve got three kids,” MacManus said.

“As the day went on I started to feel better but I thought it would be the responsible thing to take a RAT test at home, which I did and unfortunately it came up positive.”

He added: “I actually don’t feel symptomatic at all. I feel fine.”

Harris’ test result is currently up in the air, with the 40-year-old saying she had taken three rapid tests within four days, with two coming back negative and a third – her most recent – showing a “faint” second line.

“My test has come back with the faintest of lines, I don’t really know what that means and it was my last RAT kit,” Harris said.

“But I feel absolutely fine. It’s like, ‘What next?’ I guess I take a test and wait but obviously those PCRs are being reserved to those who need them.”

Harris also said she can’t locate a RAT kit in stock, joining the chorus of Australians who are struggling to get their hands on them.

It comes as NSW, where Studio 10 is filmed, recorded 34,994 cases and six deaths on Thursday.

Testing capacity remains under enormous pressure with authorities urging only people with symptoms to get a PCR test or those who live in a household with a confirmed case.
