Strictly fans say AJ Odudu was ‘robbed’ as she places at bottom of leaderboard

Strictly Come Dancing favourite AJ Odudu found herself in unfamiliar territory, landing at the bottom of the leaderboard on tonight’s show after performing a Paso Doble with her partner Kai Widdrington.

The 31-year-old presenter and the 26-year-old ballroom dancer performed an intense number to Game of Survival by Ruelle.

AJ rocked a gorgeous bold yellow number, created by costume whizz Vicky Gill.

While AJ’s mum was on her feet, the judges, weren’t too impressed, with Craig Revel-Horwood even describing the dance as ‘disappointing’ and Anton Du Beke branding it ‘stiff.’

The pair received a score of 28 out of 40, placing them at the bottom behind BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker and his partner Nadiya Bychkova.

Fans quickly jumped on Twitter to share their disappoint, with some expressing their belief that the dancing duo were ‘robbed.’

One user said: ‘The scoring was downright weird. AJ and Kai are very accomplished dancers and easily among the best ones.’

Another chimed in agreement and said: ‘AJ and Kai have been robbed.’

When speaking about how training is going so far, AJ said on Strictly: It Takes Two: ‘It’s intense, it’s dramatic, it’s not the Charleston!

‘It’s all about controlling my energy and every move having intention, Kai thinks I’m too eager to get to the next step… I’m just a keen bean!’

AJ and partner Kai have been absolutely smashing it in recent weeks, and narrowly missed out on a perfect score last weekend after their insanely polished Charleston.

We hope we don’t see them in the dreaded dance-off tomorrow night!

Saturday’s show saw Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu receive their first perfect score with their energetic Charleston, while Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice left everyone in the studio in tears with their emotional Couple’s Choice routine which celebrated the Deaf community.

Sunday’s results show will confirm which contestants will be dancing their way to Musicals Week.

The Strictly Come Dancing results show airs tomorrow at 7.20pm on BBC One.
