Katya Jones has revealed she is planning a ‘husband hunting holiday’.
The Strictly Come Dancing star, who split from husband and fellow professional dancer Neil Jones in 2019, shared that she is in the market for a new spouse and is hoping a trip with a friend will help her find ‘The One’.
‘We will be definitely going on a husband-hunting trip very soon,’ she said in a new interview.
‘I mean, we’re constantly husband-hunting. Modern dating is very complicated, I don’t always understand men’s thinking, but I’d like to think I’m a good judge of character.’
However, Katya admitted she has had no luck with dating apps, calling them ‘rubbish’.
‘I am on Raya. I’m looking for someone who can handle a self-sufficient woman and add value to my life,’ she told The Sun on Sunday newspaper.
She also specified she was keeping an eye out for someone who is ‘caring and loving’ as ‘all I want is unconditional love’.
The 33-year-old dancer, who was partnered with retired footballer Tony Adams on the last series of Strictly, and former husband Neil announced their separation in 2019.
It came after Katya was seen kissing her celebrity partner Seann Walsh outside a pub while they were competing together on the show in 2018, while he was also in a relationship with actress Rebecca Humphries.
However, Neil has previously insisted their decision to split ‘had nothing to do’ with Katya’s kiss with the comedian.
He previously explained to The Sun on Sunday: ‘We found that we’d grown apart like people do, so we were like, “OK, let’s go our separate ways.” We are lucky that we don’t have kids.
‘It had nothing to do with what happened [with Seann].’
Neil, 40, who is currently dating Love Island star Chyna Mills, 24, also confirmed that he and Katya were ‘friends again now’ and that she was ‘a great girl’ about whom he had ‘nothing bad to say’.
“We were moving in different directions but we are friends again now. Katya is a great girl and I’ve got nothing bad to say about her.”
Neil also claimed he didn’t dwell on Katya and Sean’s kiss, even though it created a major talking point at the time.
Saying he was in ‘a good place now’, he added: ‘For me it’s something that happened in the past. We spoke about everything back then. We had a situation but everyone was supportive, so we got through it.’
Seann, who competed on the most recent series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and was eliminated seventh, revealed that his career was ‘dead’ following the scandal.
The comedian failed to sell out his first night at an Edinburgh show shortly after he left Strictly during what he called ‘easily the most depressing month of my entire life’.
‘It doesn’t even occur to me that it’s not sold out. Just before I’m about to go on, my agent comes in and goes, “Just so you know, there’s like 30 people.”
‘To get told that when you’re just about to go on, horrific. It was at that point I was like, “Oh, oh.”‘
Seann went on: ‘My career was dead, I was over. My agent said, “There’s nothing I can do. I’m sorry, I’ve tried. I’ve tried everything.”‘
He has since become a dad to daughter Wylda Primrose with his girlfriend Grace Adderley.
