Star War’s Han Solo and Chewbacca will face Krrsantan, who recently appeared in The Book of Boba Fett, in an upcoming issue of their ongoing series.
An upcoming Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca issue will pit one Wookie against another, as Marvel has confirmed that Krrsantan, who recently made his live-action debut in The Book of Boba Fett, will soon appear in the comic series.
Marvel confirmed that Krrsantan — also known as Black Krrsantan — will appear in the forthcoming Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca #4, which releases in June. The plot synopsis for the issue reads, “HARROO! RHOO AAHH! HRRG!!! (TRANSLATION: It’s a Chewbacca-centric special issue as Chewie fights to rescue his friend Han. HRRARRARGH AAHHRA HUGGG! (TRANSLATION: Guest-starring the one-and-only KRRSANTAN!) RRRAHARRR RAAA HRRRA! (TRANSLATION: You don’t want to miss this one!)”
Krrsantan was created by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca, first appearing in Marvel’s Star Wars: Darth Vader #1 in 2015. After being primarily featured in Marvel’s Star Wars: Doctor Aphra comics, Krrsantan — a Wookie bounty hunter for hire — appeared in Disney+’s live-action The Book of Boba Fett series earlier this year.
Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca writer Marc Guggenheim previously told CBR about the challenges in writing a character like Chewbacca, who speaks Shyriiwook instead of Basic. “It’s absolutely a challenge but it’s a fun one,” he said. “In fact, I’m doubling down on it — literally and figuratively — in issue #4, which is told exclusively from Chewie’s P.O.V. and features a newly minted Disney+ star Krrsantan. So in that issue, we have two Shyriiwook-speaking characters. Should be a piece of cake. No problem, at all…” During the interview, Guggenheim confirmed that Qi’ra, a character played by Emilia Clarke in Solo: A Star Wars Story, additionally appears in issue #3 of the series.
Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca is set before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope, back when Han was just a scruffy-looking smuggler pilot accompanied by his even scruffier-looking buddy. The first issue, which is on sale now from Marvel Comics, sees the two of them partner with Greedo as they travel to Han’s homeworld of Corellia to steal the ashes of one of Jabba the Hutt’s rivals. Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca #1 ends with a tease indicating Han may have stumbled upon his absent father, but whether or not the mysterious figure actually is who he says he is remains to be seen.
Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca #4 comes from writer Marc Guggenheim, artist David Messina and cover artist Phil Noto, with variant covers by Nic Klein, Chris Sprouse and Javier Garron. The issue releases in June. Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca #2 releases on April 20 from Marvel Comics.
