SickKids gala raises $1.4 million for new 3D navigation technology

It was an azure, Aegean night on June 1, as Evergreen Brick Works was transformed into a gorgeous Greek isle for “Holt Renfrew presents Scrubs in the City: Mykonos.” More than 1,600 fashionistas, philanthropists, corporate partners and others came together at the gala, presented in collaboration with Mantella Corp., to benefit the Hospital for Sick Children. The event raised $1.4 million to support a new neurosurgery navigation system, which incorporates 3D technology to help surgeons quickly visualize the spine and brain so that they can perform delicate operations when there is little time.
