Sean Connery’s James Bond looked stronger than Daniel Craig’s due to tiny detail

When Daniel Craig burst onto the big screen in 2005’s Casino Royale, James Bond was going through his 21st-century action hero reboot.

Shaved off was the chest hair and bulked up were the muscles, giving fans a 007 for audiences more used to the likes of Jason Bourne.

Way back in the 1960s, the original Bond may have originally started out as a bodybuilder, yet Sean Connery had a much slimmer physique as was normal for men of that time, before the gym craze in more recent years.

Nevertheless, one fan has pointed out why the first 007 actually ended up looking stronger and more masculine on screen than the much more muscular Craig.

And apparently, it all comes down to changing fashion trends in men’s suits.

Necktie Salvage wrote a Twitter thread labelled “The Power of Full Fit” comparing snaps of Connery and Craig’s Bonds with suit jackets on and off.

He wrote: “Daniel Craig is more jacked than Sean Connery ever was (look up a picture of Connery on the beach), yet Connery looks stronger & more masculine due to the full fit of his jacket.

“The tight fit doesn’t make Craig look strong, actually it’s the opposite.”

Noting the stars’ different shirt fits in another example, he added: “Look at how tight Craig’s shirt is.

“Look at Connery’s classic traditional fit. Look at how full the chest is, look right above the pants. Look at the billowing out.

“Again, Craig is way more built, but Connery looks more adult, masculine. Full fit, it’s the only way to go. The choice is yours.”
