Sea Eagles lose Dally M superstar to injury

The Sea Eagles have confirmed superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic will miss the next four weeks with a knee injury.

Scans confirmed Trbojevic will require surgery after suffering a medial tear.

The news doesn’t come as much of a surprise after the reigning Dally M Medallist was seen wearing a knee brace following Manly’s 25-6 win over the Raiders.

“Scans have revealed that Trbojevic has suffered a medial tear and will now undergo surgery. He will be out for a period of four weeks,” a club statement read.

Trbojevic on Saturday was one of the Sea Eagles’ best on ground, scoring a try, making seven tackle breaks and notching 289 run metres, per NRL stats.

The last time the 25-year-old missed a chunk of time through injury was the beginning of last season.

He missed Manly’s opening five games in 2021, resulting in a 1-4 start to the year before the Sea Eagles turned their season around to reach the finals series.

Manly will face the Knights on Thursday where it’s expected centre Brad Parker (COVID-19) and utility Dylan Walker (knee) will also miss out.
