Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning to television – but she won’t be heading back to Sunnydale.

The Buffy The Vampire Slayer legend is on board to executive produce and star in Paramount+’s Teen Wolf spin-off series Wolf Pack.

She made a surprise appearance during the streaming platform’s Teen Wolf: The Movie panel at San Diego Comic-Con alongside writer and executive producer Jeff Davis, who was also joined by stars Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin.

Davis – who wrote and directed Teen Wolf from 2011 to 2017 – is delighted to have Sarah in the frame.

During the panel, he said: ‘Everyone knows that Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a huge influence on Teen Wolf. So I always thought it would be amazing if we could bring Sarah Michelle Gellar back to a horror show.’

Sarah added: ‘Everything these guys have been saying about family and the atmosphere of Jeff’s shows is really true. I hope you guys come join us!’

A plot summary from Paramount+ reads: ‘[Wolf Pack] follows a teenage boy and girl whose lives are forever changed when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature.

‘Wounded in the chaos of its attack, the teens are inexplicably drawn to each other and to two others who were adopted 16 years earlier by a park ranger after another mysterious wildfire.

‘As the full moon rises, all four teens come together to unravel the secret that connects them — the bite and blood of a werewolf.’

The series will follow Teen Wolf: The Movie, which is also coming to Paramount+.
Sarah will be back on TV for the first time since she starred in 2013’s The Crazy ones alongside the likes of James Wolk, Hamish Linklater and Robin Williams.

She first started on the small screen in the likes of Swans Crossing and All My Children, before landing the breakout role as Buffy Sumners in Buffy The Vampire Slater in 1997.

Wolf Pack is coming to Paramount+ later this year.
