Sanjana Sanghi explained her difficulty in choosing her next film after Dil Bechara

Sanjana Sanghi, who starred in Dil Bechara, expressed how difficult it was for her to choose her second film. Dil Bechara, which had an OTT release in 2020 also stars late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Sanjana had earlier played supporting roles in films like Rockstar, Hindi Medium and Fukrey Returns. Sanjana told PTI, “The decision of what to do after Dil Bechara was very important and tough to make. I had gone through many scripts, taken many narrations and given many auditions. I didn’t want to jump into anything till it felt right.”

Dil Bechara is an adaptation of John Green’s best-seller ‘Fault in our Stars’. Sanjana played the role of Kizie opposite late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who played Manny.

She told that after much deliberation, she decided to do an action thriller, Om: The Battle Within, which allowed her to get her hands on something new. Produced by Ahmed Khan, the movie also stars Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead role.

Sanjana said, “I felt it is the right second film after Dil Bechara.  Om was like a match made in heaven. Ahmed sir, and Kapil Verma, my director, saw me as the action girl, who is incredibly strong and spirited. I did the role based on the conviction they had through my performance in Dil Bechara, which is a heavily emotional film. They had faith in me.”

She further added, “I have done all my stunts and sequences on my own. It is important to surprise yourself as an artiste and that’s when your fans can get surprised. I think playing Kavya surprised me because I never saw myself as her.”

Sanjana will portray the role of Kavya in the movie and will also do a lot of action stunts.
