Saints Row’s New Gameplay Trailer Showcases Combat And Characters

Deep Silver and Volition have released a brand new gameplay overview trailer for their upcoming action-adventure game, Saints Row, which gives an idea of what to expect from its key aspects such as combat, characters, and customization options. The trailer focuses on a wide array of customization options and the sprawling city, diving into more details on the other criminal gangs, which players will have to overcome to build their empire in Santo Ileso.

Saints Row, which will release on August 23rd, will act as a reboot of the franchise. The series originally began back in 2006 and although the later entries in the series amassed a huge fanbase due to the whacky gameplay and intense missions, the upcoming reboot will reportedly be a return to the series’ roots.

The latest trailer for Saints Row features new details on nearly every part of the gameplay, such as vehicles, enemies, melee combat, and ranged weapons. The developers have made it clear that players should not expect to build up the most powerful crime empire in the city of Santo Ileso in a short period of time, meaning it will take some time and effort to earn respect. As explained in the trailer, players will embark on a drastic journey ranging from small-scale heists to eventually running the whole city.

However, it’s not just The Saints that are aiming to take over the city of Santo Ileso. There will be vicious vigilante groups called Los Panteros, The Idols, and The Marshalls that will try to undermine your plans. Each of these gangs will bring new excitement to Santo Ileso while the police battle against desperadoes in the city. Another thing that was revealed about the reboot of the Saints Row series was players will have a headquarters on ‘third street’, where they will rule over the city and grow their business to make more money.

Similar to previous entries in the Saints Row series, players will have a mobile phone which they can use to make calls, display missions and challenges with perk rewards, and even create a playlist to listen to while causing carnage throughout the city. Going into more detail, players will be able to customize their weapons, vehicles, bodies, clothes, and accessories with a wide array of color and pattern options. Last but not least, even as an outlaw, players will have the ability to purchase shops to take the pulse of Santo Ileso.

Saints Row will launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Epic Store on August 23rd. Pre-orders for the Standard Edition of the game are now available for $60 USD, with the Gold Edition priced at $90 USD. Players can also opt for a Platinum Edition for $100 USD to receive all the previous content, including The Idols Anarchy Pack and The Saints Criminal Customs.
